History is everywhere, just waiting to be discovered. Step through the doors of the Historic House Trust's 22 museums and discover New York City's history for yourself.
Ranging from modest farmers' cottages, like the Dyckman Farmhouse in Manhattan and New York's oldest house, Wyckoff Farmhouse in Brooklyn, to grand mansions like Van Cortlandt House in the Bronx and Seguine Mansion in Staten Island, each of these houses tells a story of how this great city grew. Individually, the 22 sites in the Trust's collection are historic and architectural landmarks. Together, they are the most comprehensive representation of the history of New York City.
The Historic House Trust of New York City was founded in 1989 to preserve and promote the City-owned historic houses located in public parks. Working in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the Trust's goal is to provide new levels of support, attention and specialized care to benefit these extraordinary museums.
